Marta and Aisha, two girls from La Palma, experience a volcanic eruption that in 2021 permanently changed the island’s landscape and the lives of its inhabitants. Their friendship becomes the starting point for a story about loss, uncertainty, and the attempt to find one’s place in a new reality. From a child’s perspective, the film explores the power of nature as well as the everyday emotions that accompany disaster. “Marta, Aisha and the Volcano” is a short documentary about the fragility of the world and the remarkable strength and resilience of human beings, seen through the eyes of the youngest.
