About
The third edition of the LET’S DOC Festival will take place in Warsaw from March 22 to March 29, 2025, at Kinoteka.
The LET’S DOC Festival is a unique film event in Poland, with a program consisting exclusively of documentary films for a young audience aged 10 to 18.
Previous editions of the festival have proven that young people enjoy watching documentary cinema. They see reflections of their own experiences in these films and can broaden their horizons by observing the experiences of people from the other side of the world. We strive to ensure that what our audience sees on the screen is as close to reality as possible. We showcase films created with responsibility, where directors portray their subjects with sensitivity and integrity. Only in this way can a film be made that refrains from manipulation and falsehoods.
From our experience, documentary film is also a very effective tool for educational work and a pretext for discussing important topics such as family and peer relationships, cultural stereotypes, challenges related to disability, migration, and the climate crisis. Young people, seeing the dilemmas of their peers presented on the screen at the LET’S DOC Documentary Film Festival for Young Audiences, engage in discussions, demonstrating empathy not only towards the protagonists but also towards themselves. Each of these conversations gives young people a sense of community and faith that although reality can be difficult and complex, it can be changed and shaped.
Documentary film allows us to see and understand the world in sharper colors and clearer shapes—without distortions, without pretenses. Therefore, the symbol of the LET’S DOC Festival is the lynx, called “ostrowidz” in Old Polish, what means “someone who sees clearly”.
