Coexistence, My Ass!

Dir. Amber Fares | France, USA 2025 | 95 min | 14+ | with polish subtitles

Noam Shuster Eliassi has a talent for approaching any situation with humor. She grew up in the “Oasis of Peace” – a unique village in Israel inhabited by a Jewish-Palestinian community. Despite her Jewish background, she speaks fluent Arabic, and her best friend is a Palestinian woman, Ranin, whom she has known since childhood. Noam became an activist for peaceful coexistence between the two nations and a delegate to the United Nations. She also performs stand-up comedy, using humor as an effective tool and a powerful means of breaking down barriers. When protests against Netanyahu’s government erupt, Noam joins them with her slogan: there is no democracy without Palestinians. However, the tragic events of October 2023 present her with new challenges.
