In the context of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, “waste” takes up sport, preparing for a major event. Amid the ruins of one of the informal settlements destroyed during the Games, silence prevails. The film “Trash Olympics”, blending drama and humor, attempts to break that silence by staging a sports competition that both unites and divides. It is a tribute to the 19,000 people displaced from the Île-de-France region before and during the Paris Olympic Games.
