Vibrations from Gaza

Dir. Rehab Nazzal | Canada, Palestine 2023 | 16 min | 12+ | with polish subtitles

KINOTEKA, ROOM 6 | 22.03 | 13:00

The film portrays the lives of deaf children in the besieged and occupied Gaza Strip. Through the voices of the youngest, who grow up under a constant blockade and repeated Israeli attacks, the documentary powerfully shows how children perceive bombings, destruction, and the sound of drones above their heads. They describe how they experience missile strikes through vibrations and tremors in the ground, as well as the echoes of collapsing buildings. The film raises questions about whether hearing loss in children is a natural condition or a consequence of the use of heavy weaponry by Israel, including sonic weapons.
