Discoverers of animation. Documentary animated film 10+

April 20, 2024

Join us for family stop-motion animation workshops held as part of the 2nd Documentary Film Festival for Young Audiences LET’S DOC.

A documentary film informs us about something real. Even if it’s drawn with crayons on paper! During the workshops, we will collectively create an animated documentary about the film-making process, combining hand-drawn animation with archival materials. Our workshop will also be an opportunity to discuss the essence of documentary filmmaking.

The workshops will be led by Magdalena Bryll, a director of animated films and an educator with a degree from the Lodz Film School, passionate about animation since childhood. She has worked as an animator, including on the Oscar-winning “Peter and the Wolf” (2008), and is also an illustrator of books. Since 2010, under the name poklatkowo.pl, she has conducted stop-motion animation workshops for children, youth, and adults across Poland and abroad. Under her guidance, over 300 animated films in various techniques have been created. She collaborates with the Warsaw Film High School, the Institute of Artistic Education APS, and the Legnica Film Academy, and is a permanent collaborator of the Andrzej Wajda Centre for Film Culture.

Ticket Price: 15 PLN / 13.50 PLN with Warsaw Card

The family workshop format requires purchasing a ticket for both the child and the accompanying adult participant. During the event, children remain under the care of their guardians.
