Paper, Montage, Scissors 10+
March 29, 2025 (Saturday) 12:00
We invite you to join our family film workshops, held as part of the LET’S DOC Young Audience Documentary Film Festival.
During entrance exams to film schools, applicants are often tasked with arranging a series of unrelated photographs to create a cohesive story. Inspired by this idea, we will try to create our own “films” using materials produced during the workshop. Participants will learn what film editing is, explore its basic principles and techniques, and apply them to craft analog, handmade “still films on paper.”
Using collage techniques, we will arrange photographs into an engaging, “edited” film story. The final product will be a paper-folded, photo-story booklet. These workshops will help participants create their own sequential artwork (sequential art includes both film and comics) while teaching the fundamental narrative mechanisms that emerge from connecting images.
Workshop Facilitator: Laura Pawela-Kolankiewicz
