LET’S DOC Film Guide premiere on VOD Warszawa

LET’S DOC Film Guide is a new free resource for teachers, published by the Andrzej Wajda Centre for Film Culture and created by Anna Równy. We are presenting it to teachers on October 14, 2024, in honor of Teacher’s Day. LET’S DOC Film Guide is now available on VOD Warszawa.

LET’S DOC Film Guide is a compilation of methodological tips for conducting lessons in grades 4-8 of primary school and in secondary schools, based on short documentary films that were screened during the second edition of the LET’S DOC Film Festival for Young Audiences and are now available on VOD Warszawa. It provides ready-made inspiration for teachers of Polish language, ethics, WOS, WDŻ, biology, geography, physical education, and for class meetings. We encourage you to explore the educational and methodological possibilities offered by short documentary films, which not only serve a cognitive function but also contribute to the development and deepening of students’ social-emotional competencies.

The publication was developed by Anna Równy, a film educator, trainer of film education, a graduate of doctoral studies at the Department of Film Studies and Audiovisual Culture at the University of Gdańsk, and a substantive coordinator at NHEF. She works in the Film Education Department at the WDK in Kielce. Anna is the author of methodological scripts and publications on film studies, and a co-author of Polish language textbooks for secondary schools titled “Ponad słowami.” She holds a degree in Polish philology and postgraduate studies in Cultural Studies, Internet Journalism, Film Education, Film Journalism, and Ethics and Philosophy. She collaborates as an expert with film festivals for children and youth, film distributors, and creators, as well as with institutions and entities responsible for shaping film education in Poland. In 2015, she received the PISF Award in the category of Young Audience Education for Leaders of the School Film Library at the Gdynia Film Festival. In 2021, she was awarded a certified title of Master of Pedagogy by the Innovative Education Movement.
