Narration, observation, and camera obscura | “Aonghas – A Wish for the Waves” 10+

March 22, 2025 (Saturday), 12:00

We invite you to family workshops held as part of the 3rd LET’S DOC Documentary Film Festival for Young Audiences.

Join us for a workshop inspired by the film Aonghas – A Wish for the Waves, directed by Dòmhnall Eòghainn MacKinnon, where we will explore the relationship between humans and nature. Together, we will discuss what observation and narration mean in documentary filmmaking. When the camera acts as a “witness,” how is the story told? What connects images, sounds, and words? What gives a film meaning, stirs emotions, and helps us understand its message and purpose?

Additionally, we will build our own cameras—specifically, an optical device with the mysterious name camera obscura—to observe the natural world through this fascinating lens.

Anna is a regular collaborator with the Andrzej Wajda Film Culture Centre.
