How much truth is there in our memories? How strongly does upbringing shape us? These and other questions run through the thoughts of the narrator-protagonist as she watches – and simultaneously dialogues with – materials from her family’s film archive. The film -poem “I Record” is a kaleidoscope of memories and reflections revolving around the medium of film. Its intriguing narration and footage from family VHS tapes, accompanied by dreamlike electronic music, immerse the viewer in a unique cinematic trance.
