Together Against Violence 11+
March 26, 2025 (Wednesday) 9:00-10:30
Primary Schools: Grades IV–VII
We invite you to a psychoeducational workshop inspired by the film “#Hate” directed by Eef Hilgers. During the session, we will address important topics such as peer violence, including cyberbullying, social exclusion, and the importance of empathy and support from both adults and peers.
Through discussion, we will analyze the needs and emotions of the characters, the mechanisms of violence, and the factors that enable it. We will also explore the role of bystanders in counteracting its effects. What might prevent a bystander from intervening when witnessing bullying of a classmate? Through group work, we will develop numerous solutions!
#Hate | dir. Eef Hilgers | Netherlands 2018 | 16 min. | film with Polish voiceover
In a dim bedroom, a foot in a white sock sways back and forth. Rosalie lies on her bed with her stuffed animals and recounts how she was bullied. Later, we see her in the light through her tablet’s camera. A poster-sized photo of her on horseback hangs on the wall. Recently, Rosalie started using the Internet to connect with others who have also been bullied—she even chats with some via Skype. Talking to them gives her comfort and strength. When hateful content began invading her life through Facebook and Instagram, she had nowhere to escape. Perhaps, paradoxically, the digital world will also bring her solace? The film unfolds entirely within the four walls of Rosalie’s bedroom. Will she finally feel safe?
Topics covered in the film: hate, coping with hate, the phenomenon of hate, emotions, rejection, loneliness
The workshop will be led by Anna Kozioł—a psychologist supporting children, teenagers, and parents, as well as a social skills trainer, psychoeducator, coach, and lecturer. She conducts individual consultations, therapeutic groups, and workshops for parents and teachers. She supports children facing various developmental challenges, including emotional, social, and behavioral difficulties, as well as anxiety, selective mutism, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and mood disorders. She is a member of the Polish Psychological Association (PTP) and teaches developmental psychology at SWPS University.
